Japan - NZ’s Long Standing Market
After 3.5 weeks in Japan, with two rounds of sales calls with various legends of the NZ tourism industry, I finally have time to reflect on my 99th trip to Japan over 35+ years. The Japanese inbound market to NZ has so much potential in the future. Yes, we do have a few challenges in order to get there, but with the right 'samurai spirit', we can do it. We have done it before. Japan has always been one of our most loyal markets, and we must not forget that.
To the supporters of the Japan market, 'kampai'..! Your faith is much appreciated. As the Japanese proverb goes...
“石の上にも三年” (Ishi no ue nimo san nen) which translates as ‘you need to sit on the rock for three years before it warms up’. In other words, ‘Even the most difficult tasks can be conquered with patience and endurance.’
To those that wish to know more about the Japan market, and wish to develop other non-English speaking markets as well, feel free to touch base with me.
